      Job summary

      Our Medicines Safety & Governance team is dedicated to ensuring that potential harm to patients from medicines is minimised whilst supporting our pharmacy and clinical teams to deliver excellent quality and safe care to our patients.

      We're looking for an experienced pharmacy technician interested in patient safety and looking to expand their horizons to join our team.

      Main duties of the job

      Working predominately with our Lead Pharmacy Technician you'll be involved in medicines assurance work, education and quality improvement projects designed to continually improve medicines management in our organisation.

      You need to be passionate about patient and medicines safety and have a knowledge of medicines governance.

      You should be comfortable working with clinical teams.

      Joining our team will give you the opportunity to undertake quality improvement education and experience the wider role pharmacy services play in patient safety, quality and risk management.

      The main duties of this post relate to the OHFT Medicines Assurance framework, Medicines Management Procedures, learning from Medicines Incidents, Quality Improvement and practical medicines management training and education.

      • All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
      • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
      • Appointment to this post is subject to the trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study. Please ask your referees to respond promptly to reference requests.
      • Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role.
